Kim Amontree brings a wealth of experience and a strong educational foundation to her candidacy for the Charlotte County School Board. Her journey reflects a deep commitment to education, community service, and leadership.

Educational Foundation

Kim graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Colorado, establishing a solid academic base. Committed to continuous learning, she further honed her skills by earning a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a concentration in Finance from the University of South Florida. This educational background equips her with the financial acumen needed to make informed decisions for our school district.

First-Hand Experience with Charlotte County Public Schools:



 Andrew, Matthew and Ashley all graduated from Charlotte County Public Schools, providing her with valuable insights into the experiences and needs of students and parents within the district.



In addition to being a dedicated mother, Kim is actively involved in mentoring students through the Take Stock in Children program. Her commitment to education extends beyond her own family to benefit the wider community. Furthermore, Kim serves as a coach for the award-winning youth development program Girls on the Run, where she empowers girls to build confidence and resilience through physical activity and mentorship. Additionally, the highlight of her week is spent with her Reading Buddy, Damian, as a volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters, where she nurtures a love for reading and learning in young hearts. Kim's dedication to education and her tireless efforts to uplift and support the community are truly commendable.

Leadership

Kim's leadership extends beyond education and into the business world. She is a co-owner of two successful businesses in Charlotte County: the Center for Digestive and Liver Disorders and the Charlotte Surgery Center. Her instrumental role in founding and managing these businesses showcases her ability to take on challenging roles and excel in leadership positions.


Furthermore, Kim has dedicated herself to non-profit organizations. She has served in leadership positions on four non-profit boards, including her recent term as President of the Charlotte Local Education Foundation. Her experience in managing the affairs of these organizations demonstrates her capacity for effective leadership in diverse contexts.

Community Commitment

Kim Amontree's commitment to the community is unwavering. For over 30 years, she has volunteered extensively in Charlotte County, contributing her time and expertise to various causes. Her roles as Treasurer for four different organizations, including the Center for Abuse and Rape Emergencies (CARE), Church of the Good Shepherd, Charlotte Academy, and Charlotte Local Education Foundation, highlight her financial competence and dedication to community service.


Kim is honored to serve as Chair of the Punta Gorda YMCA Community Board. Her leadership on the Board resulted in an unprecedented partnership with the Cooper Street Recreation Center to provide safe, quality affordable childcare to over 80 children.



Kim Amontree's experience, education, leadership, and community involvement position her as a candidate dedicated to the betterment of Charlotte County's education system. Her deep roots in the community and her passion for education make her a compelling choice for the Charlotte County School Board.
