Meet Kim Amontree
Kim has lived in Punta Gorda for 29 years, and raised her three children here with her husband Jim. She is proud to call Punta Gorda her home. Her two sons graduated from Port Charlotte High School and her daughter graduated from Charlotte High this year. She enjoys spending time giving back to her community. Over the last 29 years, she has served on numerous Boards and Advisory Councils. Presently, she serves on the YMCA Advisory Board and is a member of the Peace River Federated Republican Women’s Forum, the Drug Free Punta Gorda Coalition and Women United. She is also a Take Stock in Children mentor and a Big Reading Buddy.
Kim graduated with a B.S. Business Degree from University of Colorado and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance from the University of South Florida. With her husband, she founded and managed two successful businesses - Center for Digestive and Liver Disorders and Charlotte Surgery Center. In addition to being a member of the School Board, she is also the Program Coordinator for Girls on the Run in Charlotte and Desoto Counties. Girls on the Run is a nationally recognized Positive Youth Development Program for 3rd-8th grade girls.
She has been married to her husband Jim who is a physician for 29 years. When she is not working in our schools, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cycling and traveling.
